About me
Claudio Dina is an ethnomusicologist, multi-intrumentalist, teaching expert and composer.Former member of the national board of the Italian Society for Musical Education, since 1993 has been involved in the training of musical teacher, musicians in the University and Conservatorie throughout Italy and he’s been also the headmaster of music schools in Piedmont and Trentino.Graduated from the University of Turin whith a dissertation on the folk american violin tradition, he studied ethnomusicology at the Chigiana’s Academy and was part of the Italian Society of Ethnomusicology.He studied Composition at the Trento Conservatorie under the guidance of Cosimo Leonardo Colazzo.He studied classical and folk techniques of the violin, and of other stringed instruments, and he performed in international festivals with different ensemble.Founder, artistic and musical director of the Coròrchestra del Piemonte, he has recorded two albums under the aegis of the Piedmont Region and the ILO-ONU together with national and international musicians (India and Britain) and a third production, with music and videos, dedicated to UNESCO sites with a mixture of traditional oral music and contemporary music.In Trentino, as artistic director and conductor of the Lagarina Orchestra, he published one record with the aegis of the UNESCO Club of Trentino.He has published several articles on intercultural teaching in specialized journals and in the magazine Musica Domani as well as collections of pieces (for violin and orchestra) for students of the SMIM and the Conservatory.He deals with composition, with particular regard to ensemble music, combining interest in the training of young musicians, world music and contemporary music.
