The Creative Expressive Method: the Art of Living with the Arts
Wednesday July 15, 2026 10:25am - 10:50am CEST
"The Art of Living with the Arts" is the ability to educate oneself by educating others, to listen to oneself by listening to others, to do in order to be. Schools and socio-educational environments in general need, now more than ever, to put people at the center of their educational project, giving attention and presence to what children, teenagers, young people, and adults bring into the relationship with themselves and with others. Didactics, technology, and education can never surpass human dimensions; and it will be increasingly necessary for professionals in the helping relationship to support the individuals they care for by guiding them to observe themselves and to experiment with expressive and creative practices starting from the sensory, emotional, and relational dimensions. And this is easier and more effective if done through non-verbal languages - music, theater, visual arts, body expression - which are the key to growing and helping others grow: if you are, you know; if you know, you can be ... but it doesn't mean that you are!

Music as an Educational and Social Infrastructure: from Città della Musica to Solidarity Couriers
Thursday July 16, 2026 11:25am - 11:50am CEST
When does a place dedicated to music stop being just a commercial space and become a social infrastructure for the community?
This question gives shape to the story of Città della Musica, a historic musical instrument store founded in 1871 and developed for generations by the family, together with collaborators who have shared the same vision: to make music an experience capable of generating culture, education, relationships, and wellbeing.
The story has its roots in the choice of a child who, 155 years ago, decided to follow his passion for music, going against family expectations and against an environment that probably pointed him in a different direction. From that choice, an organization was born that today is not only a store, but a living, cultural, and social place.
Every day, Città della Musica connects students, teachers, families, musicians, and schools. Through events, performances, educational collaborations, and an internal stage dedicated to live music, this space seeks to communicate the beauty of music and the wellbeing it can generate in people’s lives.
This cultural dimension is connected to Solidarity Couriers APS, the association through which Città della Musica gives shape to its solidarity dimension. Through missions, educational projects, deliveries of school materials, and initiatives supporting schools and communities in different countries around the world, music becomes part of a broader vision of relationship, care, and social responsibility.
The project also encourages people to take part directly, by traveling with us, seeing the impact with their own eyes, and becoming Solidarity Couriers themselves.
The future perspective is to transform this network of musicians, teachers, and relationships into a model of cultural cooperation: small music schools abroad, training for local teachers, in-person programs, and remote support.
The audience will be invited to look at music not only as art, commerce, or entertainment, but as a tool for education, identity, community, wellbeing, and social impact.

Comic about the history of Città della Musica
It tells the origin of our story, born from the musical passion of a child and carried forward for generations until becoming today’s Città della Musica.
