About me
Amira Ehrlich is a Dean of the Faculty of Music Education and Chair of Graduate Studies in Music Education at Levinsky- Wingate Academic College in Tel Aviv. Amira is a music educator with more than twenty years’ experience in the field of music, as a teacher, producer, and researcher. Amira served as Israel Ministry of Educations’ Research and Development team between 2008-2014; and was a faculty member at Mandel Institute of Leadership between 2015-2022. In 2018 Amira completed her doctoral studies with honours at Boston University, winning an award of excellence for her research of cultural implications of Israeli high school music education. Her published writings explore sociological and cultural aspects of music education, and uses of discourse analysis and narrative inquiry methodologies in music education research. Between 2015-2020 Amira was a member of the international research team of Global Visions Through Mobilizing Networks: Co-Developing Intercultural Music Teacher Education in Finland, Israel and Nepal research project funded by the Academy of Finland. Since 2020 Amira has been serving as the ISME Spirituality in Music Education SIG Chair.
