About me
Sicilian, lives in Palermo. She teaches at the “A. Casella” Conservatory in L’Aquila, specializing in Pedagogy and Musical Psychology, Special Pedagogy, Body Awareness Techniques, Communication Techniques, Ensemble Music for Didactics, and Methodology of Musical and Instrumental Education. A classical pianist and jazz singer, she has taught Piano at the Music-oriented Middle School and Music Education. A specialist in Music and Arts Didactics, she has been a lecturer at the University of Messina and at the Conservatories of Palermo and Potenza. A Miur/Indire researcher at Ansas (National Agency for the Development of School Autonomy) for Artistic and Motor Musical Disciplines, she is a sociologist, holds a doctorate in Empirical Psychological Disciplines, and is a relational counselor; she has been involved in educational and didactic training and updating for teachers, social workers, educators, and all those who work in helping professions for over thirty years. She has published texts and essays on psychopedagogy and music didactics and has collaborated with specialized magazines. She was a scholarship holder for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Kodaly Method at the Hungarian University of Esterzgom-Budapest, and at the Master of Musical/Sociocultural Animation – of the M. Di Benedetto Study Center in Lecco. A jazz singer, solo and chamber pianist, she has directed musical groups and musicals for secondary schools, winning awards for educational and didactic projects. She currently directs and coordinates projects for the dissemination and didactics of music, instrumental and arts, personal and professional growth, and orientation in Palermo, Messina, and other Italian cities. She is president of “APS Il Giardino delle Idee” in Palermo, an association recognized for the Miur Arts Plan since 2021. Since 2023, she has been part of the educational community “Mind4children - Spin-off of the University of Padua”, directed by Prof. Lucangeli.
