About me
Manuele Maestri is a musician, educator, and developer of innovative methodologies in the field of inclusive music. He is the founder of the Musica Senza Confini project, an approach dedicated to “inclusive musical performance,” an original method that goes beyond the therapeutic dimension to place artistic expression and active participation of people with cognitive and motor disabilities at its core. Through his work, Maestri develops and leads music workshops throughout Italy in collaboration with associations, foundations, and specialized institutions, including ANFFAS, UILDM, and numerous educational and healthcare organizations. His work integrates assistive technologies and alternative interfaces that translate minimal physical or perceptual inputs, such as eye movements, gestures, or the recognition of colors, shapes, and images, into real-time musical elements, enabling participation even for people with severe motor or cognitive limitations.
In parallel, he works in the transcription and teaching of Braille music notation, collaborating with the UICI and organizing training courses officially recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR). He is the author of methods and publications dedicated to musical accessibility, including manuals on Braille notation and texts on inclusive music production. Maestri also works as a consultant, trainer, and speaker in seminars, conferences, and research projects focused on musical inclusion, collaborating with universities, conservatories, and scientific festivals. His work has received national and international recognition, including the MEI award for Best Social Inclusion Music Project and the MIDI Innovation Award for the development of the accessible software UniMIDI Hub in collaboration with Audio Modeling.
