Originally from Milan, Italy, Matteo Mariani began his formal music education at the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan, where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Jazz Guitar.
His academic excellence and artistic promise earned him a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he further refined his craft in an international and forward-thinking environment. There, he studied with renowned artists such as Mike Stern, Oz Noy, Nir Felder, Peter Bernstein, and Matthew Stevens, and has received the prestigious Jimi Hendrix Award, awarded to the college's top guitarist.
He is currently completing his degree in Film and Media Scoring.
Matteo’s music has been performed internationally, and he has composed for films premiered at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, as well as for art exhibitions at the prestigious Galleria Nazionale in Rome.
Over the years, he has shared the stage and recorded with acclaimed musicians such as Kenny Werner, Jason Palmer, Francisco Mela, Tia Fuller and Kevin Harris, among many others, and has performed at major festivals including Umbria Jazz.
