About me
Sandra Fortuna is a Professor of Pedagogy and Psychology of Music at the Conservatory of Music in Rome (Italy). She holds a Ph.D in Systematic Musicology (Ghent University), MA degrees in Musicology, Music Education, and Violin Performance. Her work addresses the integration of different modalities in music learning, investigating the relationships between body movement, visualization, and expressivity in listening and instrumental learning.As a pedagogist, she has taught and coordinated training courses for musical education in primary and secondary schools organised by the Ministry of Education. She participated in various national and international projects related to music education, cross-cultural improvisation practice, and a multimodal approach to instrument lessons.She presented her work at several European conferences and lectures and published her studies in diverse national and international academic journals, including Music Education Research, International Journal of Music Education, British Journal of Music Education, and Creativity Journal.Actually, she is included by Anvur (National Agency for the Evaluation of the University System and Research) in the group of national and international experts for the interdisciplinary research and knowledge enhancement - GEV.
