Valentina Chiola is a lecturer in Music Pedagogy at the “Luisa D’Annunzio” Conservatory of Music in Pescara, within the Department of Music Education and Musicological Studies. She has been working in the field of music education since 1985. She completed parallel studies in Piano Performance and Music Education and graduated cum laude in Pedagogy from Roma Tre University.She further developed her professional training through numerous specialization courses in music education and completed postgraduate Master’s programs and advanced training courses at Roma Tre University and the University of Florence, with a particular focus on e-learning and educational technologies, Specific Learning Disorders, and educational assessment.She is the author of publications on music education, piano pedagogy, perceptual education, and music teaching in primary education. Within the framework of university research, her current interests include music listening education, informal teaching practices, and improvisation in primary education.She is actively involved in music outreach, teacher training, and professional development. From 1996 she served as Scientific Director of the Musical Workshops of the Centro Studi Kamerton in Pescara, organizing professional development courses for teachers and music educators and obtaining official recognition from the Italian Ministry of Education for Teacher Training and Professional Development.Since 1989, she has been engaged in the design and implementation of cultural promotion initiatives, concert seasons, educational workshops, seminars, and conferences. She co-designed and coordinated the first-level Master’s degree in Economics and Management of Musical and Cultural Resources (Equal Project ODE-ON) and has participated in national research projects in collaboration with Roma Tre University and the University of Teramo. From 1996 to 2006, she edited the book series Musical Materials for Schools for CMP Publishing (Pescara), dedicated to basic music education.
