About me
Yifat Shohat holds a PhD in Musicology from Rutgers University, New Jersey. She formerly served as Head of the Teaching Practicum Program and as Head of the Music Therapy Program at the Faculty of Music Education at the Levinsky–Wingate Academic Center. She has been teaching various courses in the academic center for the past twenty years, ranging from music history subjects to music pedagogy and music therapy. In addition to her academic work, she is an experienced high school music educator and a trained music therapist, specializing in therapeutic work with older adults living with dementia. Her scholarly work spans a broad range of fields, including musicology, the pedagogy of music-history teaching, community music, and the professional development of musicians and music educators.
